TIME Hotels, a UAE-based hospitality group, has named Fares Satli as its new Director of Business Development. This appointment comes at a time when the company is actively expanding, with 12 new properties scheduled to open by the first quarter of 2026. TIME Hotels also aims to grow its global portfolio to 100 properties within the next five years as part of its multi-brand growth strategy.
A Wealth of Experience from Banking to Hospitality
Fares Satli brings more than two decades of diverse professional experience to his new role. He began his career in the banking sector, holding senior roles in retail, investment, and private banking at major international institutions such as Standard Chartered, Barclays, HSBC, and Citibank.
Transition to Hospitality and Leadership Roles
In 2014, Satli transitioned into the hospitality industry, where he focused on business development. He held leadership positions with several well-known hotel operators, including BlueBay Hotels and Resorts, Ishraq Hospitality, and Valor Hospitality Partners, gaining valuable experience in regional and global markets.
Driving Growth and Strategic Brand Development
As Director of Business Development, Satli will spearhead TIME Hotels’ commercial strategy. His responsibilities include developing new business partnerships, identifying additional revenue streams, and guiding the strategic rollout of the company’s growing portfolio. This includes brands like VIVI by TIME (lifestyle), HALO by TIME (upscale), and Rotella (luxury). TIME Hotels is also revamping its residential segment with three distinct categories: TIME Residences Classic, Executive, and Premium, aimed at both long-term and short-stay guests.
Mohamed Awadalla, CEO of TIME Hotels, stated: “Fares joins us during an exciting and transformative period. We are evolving from a strong regional player into a global operator with a multi-brand strategy designed to meet the diverse needs of today’s travellers. His dynamic leadership, sharp commercial instincts, and track record in financial services and hospitality will be instrumental in our next growth phase.”
Academic Credentials and Core Competencies
Satli holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and is a certified Investment Consultant through the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) in London. His skills in feasibility studies, strategic negotiations, and investor relations make him well-suited to support TIME Hotels’ growth in emerging tourism markets.
Expanding into Key Global Destinations
In addition to his business development duties, Satli will focus on strengthening the brand’s presence in strategic regions. TIME Hotels plans to open 12 new properties by early 2026 in Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Tanzania, and the Maldives. The Maldives expansion includes two flagship resorts: VIVI by TIME, a 75-key lifestyle resort on Hankede Island, and HALO by TIME, a 150-key property featuring luxury rooms and overwater villas. These will mark the company’s debut in the Indian Ocean region.
Speaking about his appointment, Satli said, “TIME Hotels has built a strong reputation for operational excellence and guest-centric service, and as such, I am delighted to join the brand at this pivotal point in its journey. The expansion of our brand family presents new avenues for growth and innovation. I look forward to building key partnerships, delivering new opportunities, and helping TIME Hotels scale new heights in established and emerging markets.”
A Growing Regional Footprint
Currently, TIME Hotels operates 17 properties across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt. With its current pipeline, the company is set to grow its portfolio to 29 properties and over 8,000 rooms by Q1 2026, solidifying its footprint in the Middle East and beyond.
