A new partnership was set to empower Saudi Arabia’s healthcare professionals through knowledge and innovation.

Takeda, a leading global biopharmaceutical company, has announced a groundbreaking partnership with King Saud University Medical City (KSUMC) to enhance healthcare training for medical professionals across Saudi Arabia. This collaboration marks a significant step towards advancing the country’s healthcare sector through specialized training and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

The partnership is built on a foundation of knowledge exchange, professional training, research and development, and the integration of cutting-edge digital health and telemedicine solutions. The Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC) was officially signed during the recent Global Health Exhibition at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Centre. The event was attended by Prof. Ahmed bin Salah Hirsi, CEO of KSUMC, and Dr. Khaled Sary, General Manager of Takeda West Gulf Cluster.

KSUMC: A Hub of Medical Excellence

KSUMC, a premier medical institution in Riyadh, is renowned for its multidisciplinary approach and adoption of state-of-the-art medical technologies. The facility boasts a team of over 1,300 full-time physicians, 853 residents and fellows, and approximately 2,072 allied health professionals. Through this strategic collaboration, KSUMC aims to further enhance the expertise of its medical workforce by leveraging Takeda’s extensive research and innovation capabilities in key therapeutic areas, including oncology, rare diseases, neuroscience, gastrointestinal & inflammation, plasma-derived therapies, and vaccines.
