Michael Baechli Joins UBS Wealth Management Middle East

Michael Baechli will join Wealth Management Middle East as Market Head NRI/NRP starting on 9 October, reporting directly to Niels Zilkens, Managing Director, Head of Wealth Management Middle East.

Michael brings over 20 years of experience in the Indian and NRI wealth management segments, including 16 years in Dubai and 7 years in Singapore. He has a proven track record of driving business growth, building successful teams, and delivering results. Most recently, he led the Southeast Asia team at Bank J Safra Sarasin from Singapore, focusing on the Middle East and Asia.

During his 15 years at Julius Baer, Michael rose from Relationship Manager to Group Head/Market Head for the Indian Subcontinent and NRI business, where he successfully built the business from the ground up and established a strong market presence. He also served as Deputy Head for Global India and Developed Markets, expanding business across key markets and contributing to strategic leadership. Additionally, Michael has significant governance experience as a board member and risk committee participant.

With his deep NRI market knowledge and strategic vision, Michael will be a valuable asset to the team. He will play a key role in further strengthening the business, fostering global connectivity, and delivering outstanding value to all the clients.
