ADT & Urbanloop Collaborate on Sustainable Urban Mobility

Abu Dhabi Transport Company (ADT) and Urbanloop SAS have officially announced their partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Global Rail 2024. This agreement signifies their shared ambition to develop innovative and sustainable urban transportation networks within the UAE. The MoU was finalized during the prominent Global Rail event, organized by Etihad Rail and endorsed by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, alongside His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Families Affairs, who also serves as Chairman of ADT.

Technological Advancements in Transportation

This partnership aims to utilize Urbanloop’s advanced autonomous transport technology, which includes individual pods that navigate independently to their destinations. ADT's extensive knowledge of the UAE's transportation ecosystem will complement this technology. Together, the companies plan to engage in collaborative research, conduct feasibility studies, and investigate opportunities for implementing Urbanloop networks in various dedicated locations across the UAE, such as tourist sites, business centres, industrial areas, campuses, and hospitals. Additionally, they will aim to integrate these networks with existing public transportation systems to provide effective first- and last-mile solutions.
