by News Desk 7 months ago Transport Bombardier

The well-proven Global 7500, which has a fleet of about 200 aircraft and more than 200,000 flight hours, is the industry standard.

Bombardier has raised the bar in business aviation with its flagship Global 7500 jet, achieving a series of new record-breaking performances. Adding to its impressive resume of over 75 world records, the Global 7500 continues to demonstrate unparalleled speed and range capabilities. Recent record flights include Miami to São Paulo, Tokyo to Los Angeles, Tokyo to San Jose, Jeddah to London, and Los Angeles to Auckland. Among its earlier accolades, the aircraft set a milestone in October 2019 with an 8,225-nautical-mile journey from Sydney to Detroit—the longest flight ever recorded in business aviation.

“These blazing new speed records continue to show that the Global 7500 is the proven, undisputed leader in its category and the business aircraft with amazing performance, bringing our customers to far-flung destinations quickly and reliably,” said Jean-Christophe Gallagher, Executive Vice President, Aircraft Sales and Bombardier Defense. “What’s even more impressive about these records is they are flown as part of routine aircraft movements, including some missions that have passengers onboard. We have on more than one occasion been thrilled to have customers and prospects be aboard for the record-setting city pairs.”

Unmatched Speed and Range

With a top speed of Mach 0.925 and a range of 7,700 nautical miles (14,260 km), the Global 7500 is a powerhouse of performance. Its recent feats highlight this, such as a flight from Tokyo to Hong Kong in just 3 hours and 40 minutes, New Delhi to Tokyo in 7 hours, and Los Angeles to Auckland in 11 hours and 55 minutes. These capabilities cement its reputation as the ultimate aircraft for time-sensitive, long-haul travel.

Revolutionary Aerodynamic Design

The Global 7500 is engineered with an innovative Smooth Flĕx Wing, a design that acts as an in-air shock absorber. Its advanced slat and flap system enhances lift during take-off and landing, improving aerodynamic efficiency and providing the industry’s smoothest ride. Additionally, the design contributes to reduced fuel consumption, lower emissions, and exceptional performance on both short and high-speed routes.

Luxury Meets Productivity

Beyond its technical prowess, the Global 7500 is a luxurious flying workspace, tailored for productivity and comfort. With cutting-edge amenities, it offers business travellers a seamless transition from ground to sky, creating an environment akin to a sophisticated office. This combination of performance and luxury sets a new standard for executive travel.

The Future: Introducing the Global 8000

Bombardier is already pushing boundaries further with the forthcoming Global 8000. Announced in 2022, this next-generation jet promises an industry-leading range of 8,000 nautical miles and a top speed of Mach 0.94. Designed for ultimate performance and comfort, it will also feature a low cabin altitude of under 2,900 feet at 41,000 ft, redefining passenger well-being at high altitudes.

Manufacturing Progress and Upgrades

The Global 8000 is on track for entry into service by 2025, with manufacturing underway at Bombardier’s facilities in Canada, the U.S., and Mexico. In the meantime, current Global 7500 owners can enhance their aircraft with an upgrade available through Bombardier service centres. These enhancements include improved speed, extended range, and even lower cabin altitudes, ensuring the aircraft remains at the forefront of innovation.

Bombardier’s commitment to advancing business aviation is evident in the continued success of the Global 7500 and the promise of the Global 8000, heralding a new era of luxury and performance in the skies.
