Seagate Technology Holdings plc (NASDAQ: STX), a global leader in large-scale data storage solutions, held its 2025 Investor and Analyst Event today. During the event, the company presented a detailed strategic roadmap focused on seizing upcoming growth opportunities, enhancing profitability, and creating lasting value for both customers and shareholders.

Financial Goals Set Through Fiscal Year 2028
As part of its forward-looking plan, Seagate introduced new financial targets extending through FY2028. These goals are anchored by the rollout and adoption of Heat-Assisted Magnetic Recording (HAMR) technology, which is expected to play a key role in enabling future innovation and scaling storage capacities.
$5 Billion Share Buyback Authorization Announced
In a move signalling strong confidence in its long-term financial health, Seagate’s Board of Directors approved an expansion of the company’s share repurchase program to $5 billion. This initiative highlights Seagate’s ongoing commitment to returning value to shareholders. The repurchase plan has no expiration date and will be executed based on factors such as financial performance, available cash flow, capital needs, and other business considerations.
