Triebes further streamlines Forcepoint customers' crucial path to global data protection by bringing more than 34 years of experience in business and technical leadership roles spanning networking, security, cloud services, and application delivery

Forcepoint, a global leader in security, has recently appointed Karl Triebes as its Chief Product Officer, effective January 11, 2024. Triebes will report directly to CEO Manny Rivelo and will spearhead the company's product and technology strategy, focusing on advancing innovation within its Data-first Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) platform—a distinctive solution for comprehensive data security across all fronts.

In the current business landscape, there is an urgent demand for robust data security measures. The proliferation of data, driven by advancements in Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI), coupled with the increasing reach of global data privacy regulations (now encompassing 71% of countries and rising), and the heightened penalties for data breaches, underscores the critical necessity for businesses, particularly those in the middle market, to prioritise data security.

Forcepoint's Data-first SASE approach is centred around cloud-delivered security and connectivity, providing a unique emphasis on safeguarding data throughout its lifecycle. The Security Service Edge (SSE) platforms, such as Forcepoint ONE, enable businesses worldwide to streamline their transition from obsolete point security products to cloud-based security solutions. The integration of Forcepoint ONE and Forcepoint DLP (Data Loss Prevention) signifies a significant milestone, streamlining security processes for customers and addressing crucial intellectual property vulnerabilities exploited by cybercriminals and nation-states utilizing AI-driven automation.

“Forcepoint uniquely integrates industry-leading data loss prevention with critical cloud-based security capabilities, providing organizations with crucial visibility and control over their data, regardless of its location or usage,” said Rivelo.

He continued, “With ‘data security everywhere’ capabilities, Forcepoint enables businesses to achieve up to 100% visibility of the key data they want to track on managed devices, including cloud and web-based applications. Karl brings a diverse mix of leadership experience building products and services that enable businesses to grow versus slowing them down, which is the perfect playbook for accelerating innovation of our transformative Data-first SASE architecture.”

Before joining Forcepoint, Karl Triebes served as the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Application Security at Imperva. His extensive experience includes pivotal technology and executive leadership roles at major organisations such as Amazon Web Services and F5 Networks. Notably, during his tenure at F5 Networks, he played a key role in growing the company's revenue from $170 million to over $2 billion—an impressive 11-fold increase. Triebes has also held senior executive positions in engineering, product development, and innovation at Foundry Networks, Alcatel, Newbridge Networks, Scientific Atlanta, and Stanford Telecom. Additionally, he served as the chairman and founder of Apprenti, Washington State's inaugural registered tech apprenticeship program.

“We live in an age of digital disruption where data is everywhere, so security measures must be ubiquitous to enable productivity and reduce risk,” said Triebes. “The adoption and momentum of Forcepoint’s Data-first SASE approach underscores how quickly mid-market and commercial customers are moving from conventional IT architectures to modern cloud systems that put data security at their centre. I look forward to partnering with Forcepoint customers as we chart the technology path forward to continue delivering differentiated security solutions that solve their biggest business challenges.”
