Hub71, Abu Dhabi's renowned global tech ecosystem, has expanded its portfolio by welcoming 21 startups as part of its latest Cohort 15, increasing the total number of ventures it supports to 243. These startups were chosen after a stringent selection process and will now gain access to Hub71’s Access program and its specialized ecosystems, Hub71+ Digital Assets and Hub71+ ClimateTech. Collectively, these startups have raised $ 134.9 million in funding, highlighting Hub71’s role in attracting high-potential ventures that aim to drive technological advancement across key sectors in Abu Dhabi's diverse economy.

International Startups Lead the Way

Cohort 15 was selected from over 1,228 applications, with 17 startups hailing from international markets such as the USA, United Kingdom, France, and Germany. Among the most notable startups is EpiBone, a US-based HealthTech firm that has secured $ 43 million (AED 158 million) in funding. Another standout, Partanna Oasis, a material science company co-founded by NBA legend Rick Fox, specializes in carbon-negative concrete and has raised $ 26 million (AED 98 million). The UK-based Greengage, which provides Web3 FinTech solutions for SMEs and family offices, has also raised $ 10 million (AED 36 million) and is set to join the Hub71+ Digital Assets ecosystem. Ahmad Ali Alwan, CEO of Hub71, said: “Cohort 15 is abundant with pioneering startups that are positioned to contribute to Abu Dhabi's innovation ecosystem. By providing the startups with access to investment opportunities and market reach, Hub71 is supporting the founders' journey in Abu Dhabi and accelerating their transformative impact globally.”

Focus on Early-Stage Startups

More than half of Cohort 15 comprises Seed and Series A startups, demonstrating Hub71’s strength in scaling ventures from their early stages. The selected startups are spread across seven different sectors, including FinTech, ClimateTech, HealthTech, EdTech, and Mobility & Logistics. A significant addition to the cohort is Autone, a US-based logistics company offering AI-driven inventory management solutions. Autone has raised $ 4.8 million (AED 17 million) in funding and is expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening the resilience and sustainable growth of Abu Dhabi’s economy.

ClimateTech Startups Poised for Impact

Seven startups from Cohort 15 will join Hub71+ ClimateTech, an ecosystem that offers targeted resources and support to help these ventures drive sustainability and environmental innovation. With the addition of these companies, Hub71+ ClimateTech now hosts 12 startups, all working towards advancing the nation’s net-zero and sustainability goals. One such startup is France-based Plenesys, which produces clean hydrogen without CO2 emissions using innovative plasma methane pyrolysis technology. Plenesys has raised $ 3 million (AED 11 million), and its technology is seen as a breakthrough for the clean energy sector.

Growth of Web3 and Digital Assets

In addition to the ClimateTech ecosystem, five startups from the new cohort will join Hub71+ Digital Assets, an ecosystem designed to unleash the potential of Web3 technologies and digital assets. This brings the total number of startups in this space to 22. Among the notable additions is Gateway.fm, a Norway-based company that specializes in distributed blockchain infrastructure for enterprises. Unlocking Opportunities for Startups

By joining the Hub71 Access program and its specialist ecosystems, startups gain access to a dynamic community of mentors, partners, and investors in Abu Dhabi’s thriving tech ecosystem. This access opens doors to market opportunities, top-tier talent, and capital, which in turn helps these startups secure commercial deals, attract further investment, and accelerate growth. Furthermore, participating startups stand to benefit from in-kind incentives worth up to AED 250,000 and cash investments of the same value through a SAFE note. High-performing startups may also receive additional funding of up to AED 250,000 in exchange for equity upon completing the program.
