Aiming to boost regional AI innovation by providing selected startups with resources, mentorship, and cloud credits

Google has unveiled the second edition of its “Google for Startups Accelerator: AI First” initiative, targeting innovative startups across the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkiye (MENA-T). This 12-week, equity-free program aims to support early-stage companies—from Seed to Series A—that are pioneering artificial intelligence solutions. The goal is to equip them with the necessary technology, guidance, and resources to scale effectively.

Rising Role of AI in Regional Economic Growth

The MENA-T region is quickly positioning itself as a key player in the global AI landscape. PwC projects that artificial intelligence could add an astonishing $15.7 trillion to the global economy by 2030. Of that, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries alone could capture up to $150 billion, according to McKinsey. Meanwhile, AI-driven startup investment in the region has more than doubled from 2023 to 2024, as noted in Wamda reports. PwC also estimates the region could gain approximately $320 billion in AI-related economic value—representing 2% of the total global impact.

"The incredible momentum of AI development in the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkiye region presents a unique opportunity to foster a new wave of technological advancement," said Abdul Rahman Al Thehaiban, Managing Director, MENA-T, Google Cloud. "Google Cloud is committed to providing a robust and scalable platform for AI innovation. Our aim is to equip these pioneering companies with the cloud infrastructure and expertise necessary to optimize their AI workloads and accelerate their growth trajectory in this dynamic field."

Anthony Nakache, Managing Director, Google MENA, said: 'With the 'Google for Startups Accelerator: AI First' program, we are dedicated to providing targeted support to innovative startups, helping them access Google's best resources to solve complex challenges and scale their impactful AI-driven solutions globally."

Exclusive Support and Resources for Selected Startups

Startups chosen for the program will gain access to a suite of valuable benefits, including Google Cloud credits to speed up the development and rollout of their AI-driven products. In addition, they will receive one-on-one technical mentorship from Google Cloud engineers and architects, helping them tailor their infrastructure to optimize AI performance. The program also features intensive workshops focused on Google’s AI and machine learning tools, data analytics, serverless technology, as well as sessions on business strategy, product design, and leadership skills.
