Core42, a subsidiary of G42, specializing in comprehensive AI solutions, and Gecko Robotics, a trailblazer in fortifying the integrity and well-being of physical infrastructure, have formalized a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to introduce AI-driven solutions to the UAE and neighbouring markets. This partnership aims to merge Gecko's cutting-edge robotics and AI-powered software with Core42's extensive experience, particularly in sectors like energy and public infrastructure. The goal is to accelerate the development of AI-based products customized to empower clients, thereby enhancing safety, efficiency, and operational standards across vital infrastructure.
Andrew Jackson, EVP – Chief AI Officer at Core42 commented, “With Core42's extensive industry insight and robust network, we are poised to work closely with Gecko Robotics to amplify its reach and influence. Together, we are primed to enhance critical infrastructure across the UAE and beyond, seamlessly integrating Gecko's groundbreaking AI-driven solutions with Core42's expansive customer base to drive meaningful change.”
Gecko Robotics is renowned for its wall-climbing robots equipped with advanced sensors, capable of generating intricate digital maps of essential assets. Through its software platform, Cantilever, this data is integrated with operational insights, revolutionizing the construction, operation, and maintenance of critical infrastructure. The technology finds widespread application in energy and public infrastructure sectors, augmenting the lifespan of pivotal assets such as power plants, refineries, and manufacturing facilities.
“Robotics come to life with AI. The combination of robotics and cutting-edge AI solutions is changing the way the world builds, operates and maintains itself. This is existential and why we are focused on that impact on critical industries and infrastructure,” said Jake Loosararian, co-founder and CEO of Gecko Robotics. “In many ways, the UAE is the epicentre of that movement to find Industry 4.0 answers to today’s challenges. That’s why Gecko continues to invest here and why we’re excited to work with Core42 which is already making a name for itself as an innovation leader in the region.”
Furthermore, both parties are actively exploring opportunities for Gecko to capitalize on Core42’s Sovereign Public Cloud service, which harnesses the capabilities of Microsoft Azure, along with other synergistic offerings from Core42. Gecko Robotics recently announced the establishment of its new international hub in the UAE, under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy’s NextGenFDI program.
