Emarat EV Charging Stations Company (UAEV)—a joint venture between the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) and Etihad Water and Electricity (Etihad WE)—has partnered with AW Rostamani Group (AWR Group) in a strategic collaboration aimed at transforming the electric vehicle (EV) charging landscape across the UAE.
Landmark Agreement Announced at EVIS 2025
The partnership was formalized during the Electric Vehicle Innovation Summit (EVIS) 2025, underscoring the UAE’s ongoing efforts to promote sustainable transport. Key figures present at the signing included UAEV executives Hicham Ezzahid (CEO), Badr Al Awadhi (CCO), and Andrew Chan (COO), alongside AWR Group’s Sanaa Ouahmane (CEO of Mobility Services), Sara O’Hara (Chief Marketing & Communications Officer), and Sandeep Arora (Director of Business Excellence).
Exclusive EV Brands Get a Charging Boost
AWR Group, the sole distributor of Zeekr and smart electric vehicles in the UAE, will now offer EV buyers complimentary charging credits through this agreement. These credits, accessible via the UAEV app, will allow customers to conveniently charge their vehicles at any UAEV station nationwide—making it easier than ever to own and drive electric.
Supporting the UAE’s Clean Energy Vision
This partnership directly contributes to the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 Strategy and the National Electric Vehicles Policy. By making EV charging more accessible and seamless, it encourages more drivers to choose climate-conscious mobility solutions. Together, the partners aim to help reduce over 100,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions by 2030.
Commenting on the agreement, Hicham Ezzahid, CEO of UAEV, said: “This partnership marks a significant milestone in our mission to make electric vehicle adoption easier, more rewarding, and truly accessible for everyone in the UAE. These types of collaborations not only enhance the ownership experience but also accelerate the nation’s transition to clean mobility. Strategic partnerships like this are essential to building long-term consumer trust in electric transportation. When infrastructure and innovation move in lockstep, adoption becomes a natural outcome.”
“This is more than a business collaboration—it’s a strategic alliance that puts customer education, accessibility, and sustainability at the forefront,” said Sanaa Ouahmane, CEO of the Mobility Services division at AW Rostamani Group, “We are not just supporting electric vehicles adoption—we’re enabling a new standard for how people move.”
Ouahmane added: “AW Rostamani Group is committed to supporting the UAE’s vision for a net-zero future. This partnership with UAEV addresses a critical market need for robust charging infrastructure, enabling the adoption of electric vehicles across the country.”
UAEV Expands Charging Infrastructure Across the Country
UAEV currently operates 122 charging ports—including high-speed DC chargers—with an ambitious goal to reach 300 ports by the end of 2025. As the leading EV network in the Northern Emirates, UAEV is continuing its nationwide expansion to make EV charging faster, easier, and more reliable for all drivers.
Addressing Range Anxiety Through Smart Solutions
Range anxiety has been one of the biggest hurdles to EV adoption in the region. This partnership aims to ease those concerns by offering widespread, dependable charging access, giving prospective buyers more confidence to switch to electric vehicles.
Making EV Ownership Smoother and Smarter
UAEV and AWR Group are streamlining the EV ownership journey by aligning vehicle sales with a robust charging infrastructure. This initiative not only makes charging simpler but also empowers drivers to make the switch to electric with peace of mind and convenience.
Charging Credit Program Set for Launch
The charging credit initiative is expected to go live in the coming months. Zeekr and smart EV owners will be able to download the UAEV app to activate and redeem their credits, unlocking seamless access to one of the country’s fastest-growing charging networks.
