EGA’s partnership supports the UAE’s push for industrial self-sufficiency through advanced infrastructure and manufacturing.

Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) has been appointed as the Sector Partner for Advanced Infrastructure by ADNEC Group for the fourth edition of Make it in the Emirates. This strategic role positions EGA at the forefront of an event highlighting cutting-edge industrial advancements, promoting collaboration, and unlocking new investment prospects, reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s growing reputation as a hub for innovation, partnerships, and industrial growth.

Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNEC Group, said: “Hosting Make it in the Emirates reflects ADNEC Group’s ongoing commitment to supporting national priorities through our venues and platforms. As a space designed to enable collaboration and growth, ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi brings together key stakeholders across sectors to help advance the UAE’s industrial agenda. The presence of sector partners like EGA adds valuable perspective to the dialogue and reinforces the importance of strong industrial foundations in building a resilient, competitive economy.”

Abdulnasser Bin Kalban, Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Global Aluminium, said: “EGA is the heart of the UAE aluminium sector, one of the UAE’s most important economic sectors. Our metal is the largest UAE export outside oil and gas. Our metal goes into UAE-made products from car parts to construction materials. Aluminium is just one part of our contribution. At EGA, we are focused on further localising our supply chain. Every year, we spend some 40% of our global procurement spend here in the UAE – for 2024, that was more than AED 8 billion spent on locally-sourced services and goods. EGA and the aluminium sector accounts for around 1.3% to the UAE GDP and supports over 52,400 jobs across the country. At EGA, we are proud to Make it in the Emirates.”

A Premier Gathering of Global Industry Leaders

Make it in the Emirates brings together a high-profile audience that includes senior executives, manufacturing leaders, policymakers, investors, and innovators from the UAE and abroad. This year's expanded edition aims to shape the future of industrial development and promote sustainable, long-term manufacturing growth across the region.

A Strategic Partnership for National Industrial Development

The 2025 edition is hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology and organised by ADNEC Group, with strategic support from the Ministry of Culture, the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, and ADNOC. The event continues to serve as a global platform for industrial investment, technological collaboration, and policy-driven innovation.

Major Exhibition with Broad Industry Representation

Taking place at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi from May 19 to 22, 2025, the exhibition will span an impressive 68,000 square meters and welcome over 700 exhibitors. With a projected attendance of 30,000 visitors, the event will cover 12 major industrial sectors, offering an unparalleled platform for showcasing industrial capabilities and partnerships.

EGA’s Key Role in Strengthening Advanced Infrastructure

As a major global aluminium producer and the UAE’s largest industrial entity outside the oil and gas sector, EGA is central to enhancing the country’s manufacturing capacity and self-reliance. Its involvement underscores the event’s commitment to infrastructure, innovation, and strategic industrial resilience.

A Legacy of Leadership in UAE’s Aluminium Industry

For nearly five decades, EGA has played a pioneering role in the UAE’s industrial journey, helping elevate the country to the fifth-largest aluminium producer globally. With exports reaching more than 50 countries, its operations span the entire aluminium value chain—from bauxite mining to alumina refining, smelting, and recycling—demonstrating a model of integrated, sustainable industry.

Driving Sustainability and Local Growth

EGA’s aluminium supports over 52,000 jobs and powers key sectors such as construction, automotive, aerospace, electronics, and packaging. Around 10% of its metal is sold locally, helping domestic manufacturers serve both the UAE and international markets. In 2024, EGA began building the UAE’s largest aluminium recycling facility, with a capacity of 170,000 tonnes per year—an important milestone for circular economy initiatives and environmental sustainability.

Empowering Local Talent and Supply Chains

A long-time supporter of Make it in the Emirates, EGA has actively contributed to the initiative through its EGA Ramp-Up programme. This effort has supported the creation of over 1,000 new jobs, nurtured homegrown entrepreneurship, and identified emerging UAE-based suppliers, further aligning with national goals for industrial diversification and economic resilience.
