Bentley Motors has extended its ambitious Beyond100 business strategy, now rebranded as Beyond100+, pushing its vision from 2030 to 2035. This forward-thinking plan reinforces Bentley’s commitment to pioneering sustainable luxury, with a strong focus on electrification and cutting-edge automotive design. The extension underlines Bentley’s ongoing transition to a fully electric lineup, with plans for its first fully electric model to debut in 2026.
Introduction of a New Luxury Segment: The Electric Urban SUV
Set to launch in 2026, Bentley’s first fully electric car is anticipated to redefine luxury in urban transportation. This revolutionary model will be the world’s first true Luxury Urban SUV, designed and manufactured at Bentley’s headquarters in Crewe, UK. As Bentley’s portfolio evolves, a new hybrid or electric model will be introduced each year over the coming decade, keeping pace with Bentley’s commitment to become an all-electric brand by 2035.
Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, Chairman and CEO of Bentley Motors, said: “Four years almost to the day that Bentley initially outlined its Beyond100 strategy, we adapt to today’s economic, market and legislative environment to initiate a major transformative phase for tomorrow. Beyond100+ becomes our guiding light as we extend our ambitions beyond 2030 while maintaining our aim of a decarbonised future, including offering only fully electric cars from 2035, and reinforcing our credentials as the British creator of extraordinary cars for over a century and beyond.”
Strengthening Bentley’s Leadership in Luxury Hybrids
Bentley, a current leader in luxury hybrid vehicles, plans to solidify its status by extending the lifecycle of its plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) through 2035. This extension is reflected in Bentley’s lineup, where iconic models like the Continental GT coupe, Convertible, and Flying Spur are now exclusively available with the advanced Ultra Performance plug-in V8 hybrid powertrain. This change comes after Bentley retired its renowned W12 engine following over two decades of production.
Transforming Crewe: The Dream Factory for an Electric Future
A central component of Beyond100+ is the reinvention of Bentley’s historic Crewe manufacturing site, securing its role as the foundation for Bentley’s next generation of vehicles and workforce. Having already established a certified carbon-neutral facility, Bentley is focused on creating a "Dream Factory" tailored for electric vehicle production, an advanced facility designed to set new industry standards in sustainability and innovation.
Record Investment in Next-Generation Manufacturing
Bentley’s largest self-funded investment in its 105-year history supports the transformation of its Crewe site, which includes a state-of-the-art Design Centre, a new Paint Shop, and a dedicated BEV assembly line. These advancements will modernize the 85-year-old facility, setting a new benchmark for digital, flexible, and high-value manufacturing, and positioning Bentley at the forefront of the electric vehicle revolution.
