Tristar units mentioned Agility's Menzies Aviation's emissions-fighting actions.

For the second year in a row, Forbes Middle East has recognized Agility—a global leader in supply chain services, infrastructure, and innovation—as one of the region's most prominent sustainability leaders. The company secured the third position in the Transport & Logistics sector on Forbes' 2024 Middle East Sustainability 100 list and is one of only five companies from Kuwait to earn a spot.

Sustainability Efforts by Menzies Aviation

A key contributor to Agility’s recognition is its UK-based subsidiary, Menzies Aviation, the world’s largest aviation services provider. Menzies has committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2045 and is actively working to convert 25% of its motorized ground support equipment to electric power by 2025. Additionally, Menzies is collaborating with industry partners to facilitate the adoption of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAFs), a crucial step toward greener aviation.

Tristar’s Investments in Renewable Energy

Agility’s Tristar division, which specializes in fuels and liquid logistics, has also made significant strides in sustainability. The company has invested in solar energy installations at its Dubai headquarters and launched the UAE’s first hybrid-powered fuel bunker barge. These efforts align with the region's transition toward cleaner energy solutions.

Pioneering Green Infrastructure in the Middle East and Africa

In 2023, Forbes highlighted Agility’s use of sustainable materials and systems in industrial infrastructure projects across the Middle East and Africa. A key milestone was the Agility Logistics Park in Riyadh, which became the first warehousing facility in the MENA region to receive EDGE Advanced “Green Building” certification. Additionally, Agility’s facility in Côte d’Ivoire earned the same certification, making it the first of its kind in West Africa by achieving over 40% energy efficiency compared to market norms.

Agility Vice Chairman Tarek Sultan said: “Sustainability has underpinned our business strategy and success. It continues to be core to how we operate. That’s only possible if we maintain a focus on long-term investments, supply chain innovation, and building a diverse workforce with the skills to deliver cleaner, safer more efficient services and infrastructure.”

Venture Investments in Sustainable Innovation

Agility Ventures, the company’s venture capital arm, plays a pivotal role in promoting sustainability by investing in innovative startups and disruptive technologies. Its portfolio includes companies developing EV charging infrastructure, platforms that enhance logistics efficiency, clean-energy generators for marine and stationary use, and solar thermal energy systems. These investments reflect Agility’s commitment to environmental innovation and sustainable business practices.

Community Investment and Humanitarian Initiatives

Beyond environmental efforts, Agility actively invests in the social development of communities where it operates. Over the past decade, the company’s programs have impacted more than 2.3 million people, providing aid during natural disasters, supporting education, and promoting youth entrepreneurship, employment, and digital skills development. Agility supports educational programs in several countries, including Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, India, and Egypt.

Humanitarian Partnerships and Refugee Support

Agility has extended critical support to refugees through an eight-year collaboration with the UNHCR, assisting over 12,000 refugees directly and positively impacting an estimated 50,000 individuals. Moreover, the company has partnered with the World Food Program (WFP) for 15 years. In the past year alone, Agility’s support enabled WFP to deliver more than one million meals to communities in Gaza and the West Bank.

Recognition at the Forbes Sustainability Leaders' Summit

Agility’s achievements were formally acknowledged at the Forbes Middle East Sustainability Leaders’ Summit 2024, held on October 17-18 in Abu Dhabi. The summit brought together leaders from across industries to celebrate sustainability efforts and innovative practices driving positive change in the region.
