Redefining the future of Egypt through innovative solutions

In recent years, the Egyptian real estate market has undergone significant expansion and witnessed unprecedented urban development, driven by a strong commitment to sustainability and digitization. The government has set an ambitious target to double the urban area from 7% to 14% by 2052, placing a substantial emphasis on sustainable and smart solutions. Consequently, the landscape of smart cities has experienced noteworthy progress. Partnerships have emerged as pivotal drivers in accelerating digital transformation and promoting sustainability in the local real estate sector. A prime example of this collaborative approach is the partnership between Schneider Electric, a leading company specializing in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, and Tatweer Misr, a prominent real estate developer. This alliance embodies the essence of "Partnerships of the Future" within the private sector, as both entities share a clear strategy and a determined plan to leverage technology for sustainability and carbon emissions reduction.

Schneider Electric, in alignment with its six long-term sustainability commitments that underscore the importance of local partnerships, aspires to be the preferred digital partner for real estate developers seeking technological solutions for sustainability.

Tatweer Misr, on its part, vocalizes a commitment to constructing smart, sustainable, and joyful communities. Recognizing sustainability as an urgent necessity rather than a luxury, the company relies on technology to construct and manage its project infrastructure, aiming to enhance energy efficiency, preserve natural resources, and minimize pollution. This significant partnership commenced in 2019 when both companies selected Schneider Electric's EcoStruxure platform to implement and manage the smart infrastructure of Tatweer Misr's projects. Building on this success, an additional Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to leverage the iTWO platform, developed by Schneider Electric's RIB Software, as one of the market's most efficient solutions for managing real estate projects. This agreement positions Tatweer Misr as the first real estate developer in the MENA region to incorporate Schneider Electric's cutting-edge technologies across all its projects.

Schneider Electric's iTWO platform introduces a groundbreaking concept that amalgamates virtual and real-world construction processes through 5D BIM simulation. This enables real-time analysis of every facet of Tatweer Misr's projects, offering insights into required resources, costs, and timelines. This innovative approach fosters a more productive, sustainable, and cost-effective construction process, aiding developers in meeting contractual delivery dates and providing customers with a virtual experience throughout the project's life cycle.

A notable development in their partnership occurred during COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh last November when Schneider Electric and Tatweer Misr inked a new MOU. According to this agreement, Schneider Electric will supply smart building solutions for Tatweer Misr's administrative building in Sheikh Zayed City, primarily utilizing the EcoStruxure platform to achieve energy efficiency and sustainability in line with global best practices. Fuelled by IoT technology and cloud computing, this platform empowers engineers to monitor and control vital infrastructure facilities, heralding a new era of smart infrastructure and future cities in Egypt. Schneider Electric's diverse suite of smart management systems and software caters to various real estate projects, encompassing residential, administrative, commercial, and industrial properties. These solutions facilitate the efficient management of power, water, natural gas, data centres, traffic, security, and surveillance systems within these projects. The partnership between Schneider Electric and Tatweer Misr serves as an exemplary case study, showcasing how collaborative efforts can achieve the highest levels of safety and comfort for residents while ensuring energy efficiency, lower carbon emissions, and sustainable practices for a better future.
