InSpotLight to Showcase Innovation at Light + Intelligent Building Middle East

InSpotLight will feature 40 international speakers and will host final round for the ‘Product of the Year category’ for the Light Middle East Awards.

The region’s most anticipated technology showcase for the lighting industry, InSpotLight, is set to return to Light + Intelligent Middle East from 14–16 January 2025. Now in its third year, InSpotLight brings together industry leaders, enthusiasts, and innovators to explore the future of lighting, design, and technology.

Showcasing Cutting-Edge Lighting Innovations

InSpotLight serves as a hub for unveiling the latest advancements in lighting. With a focus on enhancing illuminated environments and revolutionizing the industry, the event will feature over 40 global speakers. These experts will present groundbreaking innovations in lighting technology and provide insights into the latest international standards, offering invaluable guidance to designers across the region.

The Specifiers Arena – Product Pitch Finale

The opening day, 14 January, will host the final judging round of The Specifiers Arena – Product Pitch, culminating in the announcement of the Light Middle East Awards 2025 Product of the Year.

Diverse Product Categories

The prestigious award will recognize excellence across four subcategories:

> Outdoor Lighting

> Decorative Lighting

> Intelligent Lighting Solution of the Year

Shortlisted products from renowned companies such as LEDFlex Group, iGuzzini, BEGA, and others will be evaluated by an independent panel of judges.

Day Two: Exploring Industry Innovations

On 15 January, the spotlight will shift to presentations and panel discussions focusing on the latest industry breakthroughs.

Smart Lighting Systems in Focus: Tac Lion, General Manager of Media Façade, will lead an engaging session on the transformative impact of smart lighting systems on our interaction with our surroundings.

Outdoor Smart Lighting and IoT Integration: Matteo Toscan, Head of Application, Street and Area at Inventronics, will delve into the integration of connectivity technology and smart LED systems in outdoor lighting. This session will highlight how these innovations reduce energy consumption and maintenance costs for end-users.

Final Day: Building Global Lighting Best Practices

The closing day, 16 January, will feature a collaborative workshop hosted by the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) and the Society of Light and Lighting (SLL).

Aligning Global Standards: As the world grows increasingly interconnected, the workshop will emphasize the importance of harmonizing global lighting practices. Key topics include energy efficiency, sustainability, human-centric lighting, and dark sky initiatives.

Interactive Tools and Insights: Participants will gain insights from the Global Lighting Summit and explore an interactive tool developed by IES for accessing illuminance recommendations from any IES standard in lux or footcandles.

Brienne Wilcock, Director of Education and Standards, IES said: “Standardisation in lighting has always been a collaborative effort. To be impactful for the industry, the IES values any opportunities to partner with organisations that are regional, national, and global to increase awareness and provide education in the context of standards.”

Exclusive DALI Workshop

The event will also feature an exclusive workshop on DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface), the internationally standardized protocol for digital communication in lighting control. This session will showcase innovative approaches to elevating lighting design.

Commenting on the tool, Wilcock added: “We are excited about its potential for widespread use and believe it offers an innovative approach to enhancing the credibility of learning about appropriate light levels.”

Now in its 18th edition, Light + Intelligent Middle East continues to grow as the region’s largest trade fair for the building services sector. Held alongside Intersec Dubai, the 2025 event will host exhibitors from over 30 countries in an expanded exhibition space, 20% larger than the 2024 edition.

Event Venue and Details

Light + Intelligent Middle East will take place in Za’abeel Halls 1–4, with InSpotLight housed in Za’abeel Hall 1 throughout the three-day event. This year’s show promises to be the largest and most comprehensive in its history, solidifying its position as the ultimate platform for lighting innovation in the MENA region.
