Richard Waind Returns as CEO in Betterhomes Leadership Shift

betterhomes, Dubai's longest-standing independent real estate brokerage, has appointed Richard Waind as Chief Executive Officer with a clear focus on technology, luxury growth, people and closer integration across Cencorp's group of companies.

Waind previously served as Managing Director and CEO of betterhomes from 2017 to 2025, having first joined the company as Director of Brokerage before rising to Group Managing Director and later CEO of the Cencorp Group. 

Leading Cencorp, the group spanning sixteen companies across the full value chain of real estate, spanning residential, commercial and fit-out services, he returns with a clear perspective and operational experience that few in the industry can match, and that positions him uniquely to lead betterhomes into its next chapter. Waind said "I'm hoping that stepping back in day-to-day with betterhomes, we're really going to be able to leverage the group better to provide a seamless experience for all our customers.”

Waind returns as CEO at a pivotal time for the business and the wider Dubai real estate market. Having led betterhomes through two prior market downturns, in 2017–18, and during the COVID-19 pandemic, both experiences, he said, reinforced the same conviction: "Never bet against Dubai. The leadership and the structure of the city will push on, and I'm very bullish about the future."
