- Nour Abdelaal
Q. - Nour, tell us about the journey that led you to become Managing Director of Space Production.
Nour: My career started with a deep fascination for how stories are brought to life; not just creatively, but logistically. Over the years, I worked in every layer of the production ecosystem, from pre-production planning to on-set execution and post-production workflows. I was fortunate to collaborate with talented teams across different formats: commercials, corporate films, live streaming, and large-scale events. When I joined The Space Events & Sports as the head of production, I saw great potential to further the company's offering. Space LIVE Production came into the picture as I persisted in its potential. It was a sleeping giant that needed vision, clarity and boldness. Becoming Managing Director of Space LIVE Productions was a natural evolution; it gave me the platform to unify creative vision with a strong operational and commercial framework. Leading its transformation has been one of the most exciting chapters of my career.
Q. - How would you define the essence of Space LIVE Production today?
Nour: We’re more than just a production house; we’re a creative partner. Our essence lies in delivering premium, high-impact content with the agility to adapt to different platforms and audience expectations. Whether it’s a live-streamed global conference, a cinematic brand campaign, or a corporate content series, we bring the same commitment to detail, storytelling, and technical excellence.
“Purposeful is the new premium.”
Q. - As a leader, how do you balance creative ambition with commercial goals?
Nour: It’s about understanding that the two aren’t mutually exclusive. A great idea must resonate with audiences and make sense financially. My role is to ensure our teams have the creative freedom to push boundaries while staying aligned with budgets, timelines, and client objectives. That means greenlighting projects that meet both artistic and commercial benchmarks and guiding them so that we never compromise on quality.
Q. - How do you future-proof Space LIVE Production in such a fast-changing landscape?
Nour: By staying ahead of trends and investing strategically. We monitor market shifts, from audience behaviour to platform algorithms, and adjust our approach accordingly. We also invest in technology; whether it’s upgrading camera systems, enhancing post-production workflows, or integrating new live-streaming capabilities. And most importantly, we nurture relationships with clients and partners so we’re part of their long-term strategic vision.
Q. - What’s the biggest challenge in your role today?
Nour: Balancing speed with precision. Clients expect faster turnarounds without compromising quality. It’s a constant challenge to streamline workflows, optimize resources, and still deliver exceptional results under tight deadlines.
Q. - How do you keep innovation alive in your team?
Nour: I encourage experimentation. We allocate time and resources for the team to explore new formats, techniques, and creative approaches; even outside of client briefs. That could mean testing a new filming style, trialing different post-production tools, or exploring interactive media. When the team feels safe to take risks, innovation becomes a habit, not an occasional event.
Q. - What does modern leadership mean to you, especially in a creative business?
Nour: Modern leadership is about being collaborative, adaptable, and transparent. It’s not about dictating every decision; it’s about empowering your team with clear goals and the trust to achieve them. In a creative business, this also means protecting your team’s creative energy from unnecessary distractions so they can focus on delivering their best work.
Q. - What’s next for Space LIVE Production?
Nour: We’re expanding into immersive media and AI-powered storytelling. We’re also exploring partnerships and scaling our capabilities. But most importantly, we’re doubling down on originality. We’re working on original content initiatives that will position us not just as a service provider, but as a content creator with a distinct voice. The future belongs to those who dare to create with soul.
Q. - What advice would you give to emerging professionals entering this space?
Nour: Be curious and versatile. Learn every part of the process, from creative concepting to budgeting and logistics. Build relationships because this is a people-driven industry. And most importantly, never stop learning. The media landscape evolves constantly, and those who adapt quickly will thrive.
In a world flooded with content, Nour and Space LIVE Production stand as proof that strategy and soul can coexist. With bold leadership and uncompromising vision, Nour is not just leading a production house; he’s building a creative legacy.
