With improving stability in the Middle East after the signing of the US-Iran peace agreement, regional economies are hoping for a tourism rebound. Dubai’s tourism sector entered this period of improved stability from a position of considerable strength. The city was one of the world’s leading destinations in 2025, supported by strong international arrivals, high hotel occupancy, extensive aviation capacity, and a diversified visitor economy that extends well beyond hotels and tour operators. Tourism in Dubai supports a broad ecosystem, including retail, food and beverage, local transport, and cultural and entertainment attractions for many small and medium-sized businesses as well as large ones.

The lifting of the UK travel warning is therefore an important and positive signal. The UK is one of Dubai’s key source markets, and renewed confidence from this segment has implications not only for visitor demand, but also for airline operations, insurance approvals, and the wider return of European travel flows into the UAE.

While demand indicators are encouraging, including stronger bookings and increased search interest for Dubai, the pace of recovery will depend heavily on the reinstatement of airline capacity from key source markets. Emirates is already close to full recovery, but the return of international carriers and direct routes will be critical to unlocking the next phase of inbound tourism.

Reputation also plays a central role. Perception matters as much as reality in tourism, and Dubai has built a strong global brand as a safe, resilient, and premium destination. With air carriers expected to return more fully in Q4, and with sufficient time to restart destination marketing in priority markets, Dubai is well positioned for a strong winter season and continued recovery into Q1 2027.
