PowerSchool (NYSE: PWSC), the leading provider of cloud-based education software in North America, has announced its continued expansion in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region. This growth includes new partnerships with prominent schools in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Egypt, and Lebanon. The expansion highlights a global trend towards implementing AI-guided solutions and effective student interventions, as schools increasingly modernize their educational systems to focus on personalized learning and improved student outcomes.
"We are thrilled to see the strong demand for our solutions, particularly our most recent AI tools like PowerBuddy and MyPowerHub across the Middle East and Africa. Given our deep investment in the region we are uniquely positioned to provide best-in-class solutions tailored to educators that will enable them to deliver high-quality education for generations to come," said Stewart Monk, Senior Vice President and General Manager International at PowerSchool. "In our conversations with schools in the Middle East and Africa, we found that successful educational reform requires data-driven, collaborative leadership. Many schools in the region still operate under traditional systems, but there is a shift towards competency-based learning and embracing advanced technologies, and we are excited to be part of this transformation."
New Partnerships in the UAE
In the UAE, two notable schools have recently adopted PowerSchool's advanced educational solutions. GEMS Al Khaleej International School in Dubai has implemented PowerSchool’s Student Information System (SIS) to streamline administrative workflows across its divisions. In Abu Dhabi, Maplewood Canadian International School became the first in the UAE to adopt PowerBuddy, PowerSchool’s generative AI-powered assistant. PowerBuddy delivers personalized insights, fosters engagement, and supports students at every stage of their educational journey. Maplewood has also integrated Schoology Learning, PowerSchool’s learning management system, and MyPowerHub, a centralized platform for parents to monitor student progress and growth. These tools aim to enhance data management, reduce reliance on paper processes, and improve administrative efficiency through connected technology.
First Adoption in Lebanon
Al Bayan School in Lebanon is the first in the country to integrate PowerSchool SIS into its system. The school is also adopting PowerBuddy and additional PowerSchool products to automate manual processes and eliminate data duplication. This integration represents a significant step towards modernizing the school's educational infrastructure.
“In response to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the growing reliance on technology in education, our school initiated a thorough search for a partner that would comprehensively meet our needs,” said Hussein Abdel Sater, Vice General Manager of Albayan Schools in Lebanon. “After a rigorous evaluation process, PowerSchool was identified as the optimal vendor solution that aligns seamlessly with our educational vision. We are enthusiastic about the potential benefits their solutions offer, anticipating that they will enhance our administrative processes, streamline communication, and ultimately support our commitment to providing a high-quality educational experience for our students, teachers, and parents. By choosing PowerSchool, we believe that we can maintain our position at the forefront of educational innovation.”
Digital Transformation in Egypt
Salahaldin International School in Egypt has turned to PowerSchool to modernize its outdated systems, which lacked comprehensive analytics, consolidated views, and data dashboards. By adopting PowerSchool SIS, Analytics & Insights, and PowerBuddy, the school has created a unified, user-friendly education management system with strong customization capabilities, positioning itself at the forefront of digital transformation in education.
Establishing a Regional Headquarters
Recognizing the growing demand for educational technology solutions in the UAE and the broader GCC region, PowerSchool established its regional headquarters in Dubai in 2023. This year, the company launched PowerSchool in Arabic, a localized platform tailored to the region's needs. The platform includes comprehensive translation features, a right-to-left user interface orientation, and support for the Hijri calendar.
PowerSchool’s Global Impact
PowerSchool is empowering over 60 million students in more than 90 countries worldwide with its intuitive, AI-driven solutions. These tools not only enhance security and centralize access to comprehensive data but also improve student performance by offering personalized education experiences.
