TruBuild, an AI-driven startup aiming to eliminate costly delays in construction projects, has raised $1 million in seed funding. The round saw contributions from several heavyweight investors, including Wa’ed Ventures—the $500 million VC fund backed by Saudi Aramco—Dar Ventures, Plug & Play Ventures, Taz Investment, and OQAL. High-profile angel investors like Simon Moon, former CEO of Atkins Middle East, also participated. TruBuild was previously backed by Antler MENAP during its 2023 Riyadh cohort.
“We fully believe in TruBuildʼs mission to eliminate costly project changes and variations, in line with our mission to invest in impactful businesses in the construction sector.ˮ Anas Algahtani said, Wa'ed Ventures.
“TruBuild is combining the best of British construction expertise with cutting-edge Saudi AI R&D to support the realisation of the Saudi Vision 2030 and beyondˮ Matt Jones said, Saudi British Joint Business Council.
Tackling a $1.6 Trillion Industry Challenge
Every year, the construction sector loses over $1.6 trillion due to project modifications and budget overruns—roughly 15% of global project costs. TruBuild aims to curb these losses by proactively identifying risks and providing timely recommendations through its AI-powered platform.
AI Working Behind the Scenes
TruBuild’s software runs seamlessly in the background, analyzing data to uncover potential issues before they escalate. By integrating directly with commonly used project tools, the platform streamlines collaboration for project owners, consultants, and contractors. The result: faster decision-making and less miscommunication across teams.
“Weʼre not here to disrupt for the sake of it,ˮ said Bisrat Degefa, CEO of TruBuild. “Weʼre here to make everyday decisions easier through objective data, and to help project teams avoid the kinds of issues they’ve faced for years.ˮ
“With the backing of thoughtful investors and strategic partners, weʼre focused on solving real pain points for teams in the field and weʼre proud to contribute to a more predictable and transparent construction process, creating the next paradigm shift in construction technology.”
Trusted by Major Players in Saudi Arabia
Already making waves in the Kingdom, TruBuild is actively partnering with key players like Osool Real Estate Company. For Osool, TruBuild is more than just software—it’s a strategic asset supporting smarter, more efficient project procurement and development.
What’s Next for TruBuild?
With fresh capital in hand, TruBuild plans to enhance its AI capabilities, expand both its engineering and commercial teams, and broaden its reach across Saudi Arabia and international markets.
