Emirates NBD, one of the foremost banking groups in the Middle East, North Africa, and Türkiye (MENAT) region, has announced a strategic alliance with Kinexys Liink — the first-ever bank-led peer-to-peer data sharing network developed by Kinexys, a division of J.P. Morgan. This partnership includes Emirates NBD's integration with the network's 'Confirm' Application, which is built to facilitate the secure exchange of global account validation data. The move aims to reinforce the security of international transactions for all Kinexys Liink participants.
Enhancing Payment Security and Efficiency in the UAE
Through this collaboration, Emirates NBD will contribute to improving the accuracy, efficiency, and security of cross-border payments within the United Arab Emirates (UAE). By adopting the 'Confirm' Application, the bank will enable real-time validation of UAE-based account information, providing participating financial institutions with the ability to authenticate recipient details before processing payments. This added layer of verification is designed to reduce errors and streamline payment workflows across borders.
Kinexys Liink: Revolutionising Financial Infrastructure with Blockchain
Developed by J.P. Morgan’s blockchain-focused business unit, Kinexys Liink is reshaping how banks interact and share information. The ‘Confirm’ Application on the Kinexys Liink platform allows banks globally to verify account details before executing transactions. With Emirates NBD now providing validation services through this platform, participants can reduce the risk of failed payments due to outdated or incorrect account information. This proactive validation helps prevent costly delays, lowers operational burdens, and improves automation and efficiency in payment processing.
Leading Regional Innovation in Blockchain and Finance
This partnership underlines Emirates NBD’s role as a regional leader in adopting cutting-edge technologies to modernise banking infrastructure. By embracing blockchain-based solutions for cross-border payments, the bank is setting a benchmark for innovation in the region. The collaboration reflects Emirates NBD's ongoing dedication to enhancing payment security, improving customer experience, and supporting the global push toward faster, more reliable international financial transactions.
Anith Daniel, Group Head of Transaction Banking Services, Emirates NBD, commented: “We are pleased to integrate with ‘Confirm’ by Kinexys Liink, which positions us at the forefront of payment innovation. By leveraging a blockchain network infrastructure such as the one from Kinexys by J.P. Morgan, we are able to provide real value to banks on the network, ensuring advanced payment security and streamlined operations. As the Kinexys Liink network expands, we are excited about the future opportunities this collaboration will unlock.”
Naveen Mallela, Global Co-Head of Kinexys by J.P. Morgan, said: “We are pleased to welcome Emirates NBD as part of the Kinexys Liink network. We are committed to developing solutions that enhance the speed, security and reliability of global cross-border payments and Emirates NBD’s integration with the Kinexys Liink network helps bring these benefits to the region.”
