The partnership is focused on major projects that help finance professionals grow, improve industry standards, and advance best practices in the area.

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Emirates Association of Accountants & Auditors (EAAA) have reinforced their collaboration with a common goal to enhance the finance and accounting industry within the UAE. This renewed partnership was formalized during the Finance, Excellence & Leadership Summit (FELS) 2024, held in Dubai, highlighting their shared commitment to professional growth.

Focus on Professional Development and Industry Standards

The revitalized agreement emphasises key initiatives aimed at fostering the development of finance professionals, improving industry standards, and encouraging the adoption of best practices. The formal signing was conducted by Lucia Real Martin GAICD, Executive Director of ACCA, and Ahmad Darwish, FCCA, Vice Chairman of EAAA and Chairman of its Executive Committee, signalling the mutual dedication to these goals.

“We are thrilled to have renewed our partnership with EAAA and are very much looking forward to working together on initiatives that support the development of the finance profession in the UAE,” said Fazeela Gopalani, Head of Eurasia and Middle East, ACCA.

ACCA and EAAA Joint Examination Scheme

A central element of this partnership is the Joint Examination Scheme (JES) in the UAE, which encompasses the ACCA Qualification and the Foundation in Accountancy program. The ACCA Qualification consists of 13 examinations across three levels: Applied Knowledge, Applied Skills, and Strategic Professional. The Foundation in Accountancy program provides an entry-level suite of qualifications, including certificates, diplomas, and a technician-level qualification.

Opportunities for Membership and Continuous Professional Development

ACCA and EAAA members who obtain their ACCA Qualification through the JES will be eligible to apply for membership with the EAAA, allowing them to use the UAE Chartered Accountant (CA) designation. Additionally, the two organizations will collaborate to offer continuous professional development (CPD) through joint activities such as webinars, events, and other educational opportunities to further support their members' growth.

Ahmad Darwish, FCCA, Vice Chairman of EAAA and Chairman of the Executive Committee, commented: “This strategic collaboration aims to enhance and build on the fantastic UAE Fellowship Program developed for the UAE Ministry of Economy. We are delighted to renew our partnership with ACCA to further enhance and develop our existing collaborative projects.”
